I’m not opening a naked gym (yet).
Hey Friends!
This weekend is my favorite event of the entire year — our annual Halloween bash.
This year’s theme: Greek Mythology Toga Party.
By the time you read this, our house will be half Olympus, half Underworld (and fully covered in gold laurel leaves, a centaur cutout for the photo booth, and Cerberus guarding the bar — aka Hades Lounge).
In the spirit of the theme, Adina and I have been listening to a Greek mythology podcast in the car every morning — which is how I learned that the Greek root “gymnos” means naked!
Yep. The word gymnasium literally comes from gymnazein, meaning “to train naked.”
The original Olympic athletes exercised completely in the buff — because it leveled the playing field.
You couldn’t tell who was rich, who was from which clan, or who had the fanciest sandals and no one's legs got caught up in a loin cloth. Everyone showed up exactly as they were.
Once I got over the initial “ick,” I realized — there’s something pretty powerful in that idea.
When you strip away the layers — the shoulds, the expectations, the comparisons, the tight leggings that cut into your soul (seriously, why are we still wearing those?!) — you can actually feel your body again.
That’s the whole essence of corrective exercise: awareness without judgment.
When I ask you to notice where you feel a movement, I don’t want the answer your brain has rehearsed.
I want the truth your body is trying to tell you.
Because until you tune into what’s real — not what you think should be happening — you can’t truly rebuild strength or stability from the inside out.
That’s the magic of this work.
It’s not about perfection or punishment — it’s about peeling back the layers (figuratively, I promise...although I'm convinced wearing looser leggings will help!) and learning to reconnect with your body in a way that actually feels good again.
And if you’ve been going through a transition — pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, or just one of those “who even am I right now?” seasons — this message is especially for you.
Because your body is changing, and it deserves a space to catch up, recalibrate, and feel strong again — without all the pressure or comparison.
That’s exactly what my new 8-week coaching program is built for.
It’s an intimate, supportive space to help you feel more connected, grounded, and confident in your body again — no toga required.
I'm still working on refining the website, but you can check out some of the details HERE and if it speaks to you, sign up under the “I’m interested” prompt to get updates as we near the January start.
Now, wish me luck — Olympus awaits.
