Happy New Year (from a very grateful mom of one)
Happy New Year, friends!
Iâve spent the last week in Florida surrounded by lots of family â which was loud, joyful, chaotic, and a very clear reminder that as a mom of one, I have so much respect for anyone raising more than one kiddo.
I always thought Iâd have a whole brood.
But the older I get, the more I think the universe knew my limits. đ
So Iâm rolling into 2026 feeling incredibly thankful for my small, very quiet family of three â and feeling ready to dream a little and set some new goals.
I know, I know⌠loving New Yearâs goals puts me in a shrinking, unpopular category. But I genuinely love them. Not because I expect a magical overnight transformation â but because they give me something to work toward. And honestly? Iâm a coach. Thatâs kind of my whole thing.
Corrective exercise works the same way.
We donât âfix everythingâ at once.
We donât rush the process.
We choose a focus, meet our bodies where they are, and build strength and balance over time.
Which brings me to a few of my own goals for the year:
⨠Conquering my pull-up â still working on it, still humbled by it, and learning (again) that progress is rarely linear.
⨠Seeing more of you in person â because connection, community, and shared movement matter so much.
Iâm starting with a brand-new in-person class in Barbados next week, and Iâm also working on securing spaces to teach in NYC and Baltimore in February. If you have contacts, leads, or ideas â I would love to hear from you.
As we step into this new year, my wish for you isnât perfection or pressure. Itâs balance â in your body and your brain. Itâs learning how to listen more closely to what you need, and trusting that small, consistent steps really do add up.
Hereâs to a year of steadier movement, clearer intentions, and bodies that feel a little more at home.
With so much love,
Coach Joanie đ¤
Hereâs to 2026 â and moving forward, one thoughtful rep at a time.
